After having tested it since October 2017, Twitter finally deploys its “Save” function as a new option to save and share Tweets with friends.

The new “Bookmarks” option allows you to save Tweets in a private list for later full reading without necessarily having to like or retweet them .

In this way, you can save Tweets, Links, and Discussions ( Threads ) for later reading when you have a little more free time.

So far, users of Twitter had the heart icon of “Like” which, technically, allowed to save the Tweets they found interesting in a list on their profile.

But in practice, this way of doing on Twitter was more like a recommendation, since this list of “liked” Tweets is part of your public profile and everyone can see it.

By cons, with the option “Bookmarks”, you will be the only one able to see your bookmarks ( Tweets saved ).

What makes this feature more useful for users who do not want to put all the Tweets they like in the sight of everyone.

Twitter therefore launches a new Share button including an option Bookmarks to register the Tweet.

And this, replacing the icon “Envelope” which was used for sharing privately via the private messenger ( DM ) of Twitter, by a new icon with an arrow pointing upwards .

By clicking or tapping on this new “Share” icon, you open a menu offering 4 sharing options including the Bookmark:

  1. Share via Private message
  2. Add the Tweet to your Bookmark
  3. Add the Tweet to the Moment
  4. Share Tweet via … ( who opens a page of communication apps you have )

The new Bookmarks option is available on Android, iOS and the Web.
